The MINDRAMP Story
MINDRAMP Consulting was founded in 2009 by Michael C. Patterson and Roger Anunsen. Our goal from the start has been to figure out how to keep our brains healthy and prevent the cognitive decline that often accompanies the aging process.
For all Ages - While we started out focusing on the cognitive decline among older adults, it has become increasingly clear that cognitive wellness is affected by what we do at every age of our lives, and throughout our lifespans. It is never too soon - or too late - to take control of our cognitive powers.
Cognitive Wellness - It has also become clear that brain health is incredibly important, but it is only one piece of the puzzle. We need a healthy brain to support creative thinking and we need to think creatively to craft a life of meaning, purpose and fulfillment. The term "cognitive wellness" captures these three core areas.
Consulting & Coaching - MINDRAMP's unique approach combines the advice and direction of consulting with the personal development and self-actualization of coaching to provide a comprehensive and effective approach to promoting cognitive wellness.
The MINDRAMP Method has been designed to follow the science, not the money. It uses risk-management and behavior change interventions because they have been shown to work, again and again.
The approach not only helps you target the specific changes you need to make to promote brain health and mental creativity, it also helps you take action and stick with your plan. It's great to know what should be done, but real improvement is only achieved when you turn your knowledge into action.
This is why the consulting and coaching relationships are so important. You need to know what to do, and you need to develop the mental strength and courage to turn your knowledge into action.
The Cognitive Wellness Playbook is a real breakthrough in applied brain research. It shows you how to play with the four key steps of the M.A.P.S. Model (see below) to develop your own personalized cognitive wellness action plan.
The Cognitive Wellness Playbook is packed with engaging worksheets that guide you, step-by-step through the development of your own personalized brain health strategy. In addition, you learn a range of skills to help you sustain your efforts.
Roger and Michael have worked in the field of brain health for close to two decades. We are heartened that the field is finally turning its attention away from the dream of a drug solution to cognitive decline and is throwing more support towards risk-management and behavior-change.
We are proud to be pioneers in the field of applied brain research. We are excited by the challenge of integrating insights from diverse fields of brain research and converting them into practical programs that anyone can use.
The MINDRAMP Method and the Cognitive Wellness Playbook provide the brain health field with an effective risk-management approach that can be learned and implemented by anyone who can read.
