| Better than the program description! Exceeded Expectations. Fascinating & useful for my life. Beyond my expectations. Exceptional format, lots of good info. Wonderful interplay between presenters. Very interesting and stimulating day of learning. Exceeded expectations. The dynamics between the 2 instructors was great. Had new ideas & research as well as the basics. Very engaging, enjoyed the tag team. It needs to be longer. It has stimulated my interest in further study of ageing. Was unaware of the instructors but hope they come back. |
Fantastic! Good communicators. Wonderful! Close to perfect The Action Plan was a bonus. Really needs two days. Inspired. Very energetic! Very well done. Thank you! Exceeded my expectations. |
| From ASA-NCOA Conference "Roger's workshop at the ASA-NCOA conference on helping seniors outwit memory loss was the single best session of the conference. He's truly a genius of an educator." Lucie Arbuthnot, Ph.D., LBA Consulting, Maine. From Friendsview Retirement Community ![]() April 14, 2010 Roger, I am surprisingly pleased with the Brain Wellness classes you have been leading for our residents here at Friendsview Retirement Community. When we first began this adventure with our normally active residents, I honestly wasn't sure we would meet our goal of 35 attendees, as you know we have not only met our goal but have continually increased and are averaging 55 with added guests each week. Just looking at numbers doesn't give you the whole picture of the value of your classes. Residents here have something new and exciting to talk with one another about. Throughout the day residents are overheard talking about the new information they have learned are sharing it with others who are not able to attend. The skills you are teaching our independent residents are being taken to their friends in the health center and throughout the greater community. I want to tell you one specific benefit of these classes; we have had a group of ladies who usually have their meals together. In the past they have not been what you would call the most positive and conversations were usually around their aches and pains or someone's wrong doing, now they are upbeat laughing and talking about what they have learned. They examine each other's plates and grade them as to their brain power. This is a wonderful added benefit to all of their friends and family. Our staff has even gotten in on the weekly jokes or brain teasers. We have had to add a weekly brain teaser on our resident information board. I only hope I can keep up with residents. Sincerely, Sherry Oakley |
